In previous years, NGOs and volunteers could make visits to childrens' homes to create that festive mood and cheer up the kids
This year, however, we would be following the SOP to prevent the spread of Covid-19
The home carers that we have spoken to have shared that the children have been feeling lonely as there would usually be alot of visitors and volunteers who would drop by and arrange activities for them.
Therefore we have planned to purchase Deepavali Gift Boxes from Maybank's RISE initiative* that contains cookies made by disabled merchants, and donate the gift boxes to charitable childrens' homes
We hope with this gesture, we can spark some happiness for the children during this Deepavali!

With this initiative, we aim to impact 2 communities;
1. The disbled business owners whom are making the cookies for the gift boxes.
2. The childrens' homes, with the hopes that they would not feel so lonely and disconnected from th rest of us during this hard times.
