THE PROBLEM

Layag-Layag is a small village separated from the mainland by a thick layer of mangroves. The only means of transportation is a 30-minute boat ride. 

This means children from the village have poor access to Islamic knowledge eventhough it is within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) region - a heavily muslim-populated region. 

Children of muslim families have little-to-zero knowledge on Islam and is not given the opportunity to discover it's beauty. 
 

THE SOLUTION

This campaign wishes to bridge the gap between the children and their access to Islamic knowledge. 

In collaboration with our friends from the Philippines and their on-going mission to deploy a free Islamic School in the community masjid of Layag-Layag;

DoGood Malaysia and Youth, Da'wah for Peace Philippines calls out to you to help us make this dream come true. 

We currently have a team of volunteer professionals and academics ready to join the force. However, we still require additional financial support for the operation and to obtain items such as bags, notebook, pencils, chalkboard, and the likes.

THE IMPACT

We hope to guide and groom future teachers that could help continue this effort in Layag-Layag. 

Children with promising academic performance will be fully sponsored to deepen their knowledge on the mainland. 

The hope is for these students to continue to teach islam to the next generation and generations to come so that the knowledge will always available for those that want to learn. 

Goal Breakdown

Goal 1 - 24-Months worth of salary for Teachers. Amount Needed: MYRRM 11,040.00

Goal 2 - 24-Months worth of salary for Community Coordinator & Adminintrator. Amount Needed: MYRRM 3,360.00

Goal 3 - Other immediate needs (Chairs, Stationaries, Chalkboards etc). Amount Needed: MYRRM 9,383.00
