THE PROBLEM

Drug and alcohol abuse has ravaged society and has a severe negative impact on our community's finances as well as the functioning and prospects of our young people. Trendwise Analytics claims that Drug and Substance Use has increased addiction among young people, especially college and high school students, with long-term effects on people's socio-behavioural traits.

A multitude of behavioural disorders, including social delinquency and academic problems, as well as mental health issues like depression or violent or criminal behaviour, are frequently brought on by chronic addictions. In order to deal with drug offenders, the Malaysian government spends more than 500 million Malaysian Ringgit annually.

This includes arresting addicts and placing them in state-run rehab facilities all around the nation. Delay in taking action to stop Drug and Substance Use would harm the nation's public health system, leading to political unrest as well as societal and economic collapse.

THE SOLUTION

UntoXicated Youth is a live, interactive, visually stimulating, and engaging presentation birthed by Khai Aziz, that gives young people the knowledge and skills they need to make wise decisions about their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It is dedicated to assisting and empowering students in choosing to lead healthy and fulfilling life.

The presenter and founder, Khai Aziz, has several years of experience presenting to thousands of pupils in primary schools and tertiary institutions. He also frequently appears on Malaysian television talkback radio to share his views on leading a drug-free life.

Khai's own charity, Drug-Free Youth Malaysia has also had a profound influence on countless pupils to live drug-free lifestyles. In UntoXicated Youth, a strong, timely message is conveyed in this modern multimedia presentation using musical and video tools.

In a worldwide effort of millions of people who have taken a stand against harmful lifestyle choices, the UntoXicated Youth initiative is also a symbol of inclusiveness. To set this initiative in motion, Khai is appealing to the public for assistance in fundraising for total funds of RM50,000 to target ten (10) schools where UntoXicated Youth will be launched and presented.

The funds will be channelled towards administrative costs, logistical costs, resource materials and mobilizing of personnel. In addition, The Dalgarno Institute in Australia, a group with a more than 150-year history of working to rid communities of the harms of alcohol and other drugs, has pledged to provide and sponsor further educational materials utilized in the UntoXicated Youth presentation material.

Through the public’s support, we aim to raise our target funds by the end of June 2023 as we also continue to raise awareness of the dire effects of Drug and Substance Use amongst youths in Malaysia.

THE IMPACT

Through the presentation, students are urged to be Aware, be Enabled, and be Empowered in addition to knowing about the risks associated with smoke, alcohol, and other drugs. This youth demographic is motivated to lead healthy, drug-free lifestyles through the use of this straightforward framework.

The extremely popular "Design for Change'' worldwide initiative, which includes 25 million young participants and is currently active in 35 countries, also employs this format and has proved useful in combating the issue of Drug and Substance Use in youths.
