Lifelong Learning IT Programme for Underprivileged Children

We are looking for a partner to contribute in-kind laptops or tablets for our Lifelong Learning IT Programme to educate and empower underprivileged children from orang asli and B40 communities to enjoy learning to be active citizens, better communicators and lifelong learners so that they can impact their communities and have a better future.

We are looking to loan 16 laptops/tabs for us to conduct the Lifelong Learning IT programme in collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ).  This project started since 2019 for Orang Asli and B40 primary students and was conducted in school computer labs.  As you are aware, due to the pandemic, we are unable to conduct our programme in school premises, hence we have decided to conduct our programmes in community halls within the marginalised neighbourhood for schools such as SK Bukit Lanjan (Orang Asli), Sek Keb Taman Medan (B40) and Sek Keb Lembah Subang (B40).  We have worked with the schools to identify 16 students from each school to participate in this programme.

This programme is delivered under the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities initiative. Our partner, the MBPJ, is one of the global network members.  Our modules include learning, life and literacy skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to guide and coach them on cultivate time management, learning and communication skills relevant to their school and life.
