MALAYSIAN 1st TAMIL SCHOOL CHOIR COMPETITION

Malaysian 1^st Tamil School Choir Competition 2022 is a competition Pertubuhan Akademik Muzik India would like to organise with the support of the public. The competition aims at encouraging and increasing the awareness of Tamizh Language, Culture, Identity and Inclusiveness among Indian pupils or students. Music has always been an important aspect in the lives of Indian people. Our rich cultural diversity has greatly contributed to various forms of music. Cultural learning and appreciation play an important part in the formation of positive self identities & inclusiveness among Indian students.

 

The main objective of Tamil School Choir Competition is to provide a solid platform for Tamil school pupils to learn, share and perform good choral music across the different genres to a high artistic level. The repertory covered is wide-ranging, from folksongs and originals to classical and contemporary, in Tamizh language. Emphasis is given to developing vocal technique, understanding and awareness of musical styles, musicianship and performing experience.
