Everyone deserves an Education

The Story

It's Chan Eu Jin from AIESEC in UTAR, currently studying in UTAR. AIESEC in UTAR is a non-profit organization run by youths from UTAR. I am an enthusiastic and positive person who is willing to take on challenges and improve myself for the better of society.

Our project Speak Up is aligned with the goal SDG 4, Quality Education. One of the goals of SDG 4 is to build and upgrade education facilities that are child, disability and gender sensitive and provide safe, nonviolent, inclusive and effective learning environments for all. The objective of this fundraising is to create an impact on the B40 community. We will be buying science kits for the B40 to allow them to explore more regarding Science. Humans are creative and why not allow the community to be creative as well!

Do you know?

• Before the coronavirus crisis, projections showed that more than 200 million would be out of school and only 60 per cent of young people would be completing upper secondary education in 2030.
• Before the coronavirus crisis, the proportion of children and youth out of primary and secondary school had declined from 26% in the year 2000 to 19% in the year 2010 and 17% in the year 2018.

Education is important that everyone deserve to be involved in it. It is sad to see some of the students are not able to go to school. A message to everyone: Why not lend a hand to the community? Everything starts within us.
