The Story

Holaa ! How are you today ?

You might be wondering why this pops out and what is this about right?

Hold on, stay put. Here's the story.

I am Chai Ting Ting from University College of Technology Sarawak. A girl who always seeks ways to contribute back to society as she has received a lot of help and support from the community. Haha, so yea, I am blessed and I want to return the blessing to society, with my little, tiny strength. That's how I found AIESEC. I am one of the Local Volunteer of Get Fit Get Inclusive by AIESEC in Sunway. By being part of this project, I have the opportunity to help special needs children directly. I hope to empower the special needs children while acknowledging people around me, could be friends, family or even the whole community so that more and more of us are aware of the challenges they faced and might as well stop the discrimination. Most importantly, I wish the special needs children and individuals can be involved in mainstream society, get accepted, get to earn a living for themselves in a long run.

In this case, IMC Special Needs Centre is a purpose-built training center for children and individuals with special needs.  With a strong passion to contribute and enthusiasm to help, they set up a place where those with special needs are given a chance to live a normal life. IMC Special Needs Centre is a real heaven for special needs children and individuals! They also strive to prepare the special children to be ready and accepted into mainstream learning centers and to be given an opportunity to participate in primary education examinations. I am inspired by them as I totally agreed that education is a human right where no one should be left behind.

However, IMC Special Needs Centre has been struggling with financial issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This leads to insufficient food, lack of voluntary manpower and donations means that they are not able to operate as efficiently to support the Special Children and orphans that are completely under their guardianship. Therefore, I want to raise a fund to support IMC Special Needs Centre and hope to get support from all of you. Let us lend our hand to the special needs community in these difficult times.
