The Story

HI! I am Kanak,  a Local Virtual Volunteer for ‘Get Fit, Get Inclusive’ by AIESEC in Sunway. This project aims to raise awareness about the special needs community and to raise funds for the IMC Training Centre for Special Needs. I hope that by joining this project I can raise awareness among the public about the struggles and discrimination faced by the special needs community. This is because all children with or without disabilities deserved to be love and be treated the same.

Not to mention, IMC Training Centre purpose is to train children and i

ndividuals with Special Needs to give them the opportunity to learn and to develop their motor and sensory skills. Now, the centre is facing challenges like a lack of volunteers and funds to operate the centre due to the pandemic. Therefore, hope this fundraiser would help to raise some funds to support the centre during these hard times.

THE IMPACT OF YOUR DONATION 

• Higher awareness among the public by spotlighting the stigma and discrimination experienced by Special Children

• Sustain IMC in providing a safe and secure environment for the Special Needs Children to develop their lifestyle skills

• Raise funds to support IMC in potentially constructing a new centre to support more Special Needs Children as the number of Special Children are increasing while IMC’s capacity is limited 

• Raise funds to execute AIESEC’s Get Fit, Get Inclusive initiative (GFGI), a  community project aligning with SDG Goal #10: Reduced Inequalities which aims to assist Special Children in Malaysia by conducting activities that supports the development of Special Children's mental and social skills
