The Story

Hello! It’s Tariro and Amalia from AIESEC’s Empowering Equalities! We are both international university students based in Malaysia. We both became virtual volunteers, as we are keen in broadening our worldview, by exploring more of what makes up Malaysian society, which includes refugees.

This fundraiser is to assist the vulnerable refugee community in Malaysia, in especially the trying times of the COVID-19 pandemic. We aim to help tackle as much of the concerns that the youth of said community is experiencing, with regards to their inadequate access to proper education, as well as soft skills training.

We believe that it is vital for society to be more pro-active in taking care of every, single member belonging to it, especially the marginalized, as they have little to no legal rights to basic necessities in Malaysia. It is only right that we aid them in being self-sustainable, for the betterment of their own lives.
