Fill Their Stomachs, Fill Their Hearts

The Story

Hello there!

We are Ling En and Yun Qi, volunteers of Clean Our Plate 8.0 project on behalf of AIESEC Sunway. We're passionate in raising awareness about the underlying issues of food wastage and determined to ease the burden of underprivileged communitites battling hunger. 

THE PROBLEM

Did you know that Malaysians throw away 16,688 tonnes of food daily and that this amount of food is enough to feed 12 million people a day? 

On the other hand, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN recorded that 900,000 Malaysians are hungry. These people are eating less than 3 meals a day, not by choice but because they do not have enough money to buy food or lack accessibility to the food. 

Looking at these numbers, does it still makes sense for any of us to go on creating food waste? Join us in this journey of raising awareness of food wastage, even just by sharing this information to your family and friends would create an impact. Above that, the most affected party due to food wastage - the underprivileged communities suffering from starvation are in dire need of help to not just fill their plates, but to survive. This is where your help could make a change in their lives.  

THE SOLUTION  

Donate any amount to this fundraiser created by Clean Our Plate Malaysia. Part of the funds collected will be channeled to The Lost Food Project (TLFP) for them to donate food to the beneficiaries. Every single effort from any of you could lead to huge changes in the lives of those in need.
