Empowering B40 Women in Business

The Story

Hi! I’m Yue Pei, a volunteer from AIESEC in Sunway. The project I am working on is Women’s Spirit, in collaboration with Women of Will (WOW). This project supports the United Nations’ SDG Goal 5: Gender Equality. Women of Will aims to transform the lives of disadvantaged women in Malaysia through a micro-credit financing model combined with an Entrepreneurial Development Programme, WoW aim to equip these women with the skills and knowledge to develop and run sustainable businesses. 

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, online F&B services has become a normativity. As such, many B40 women entrepreneurs have turned to online F&B businesses to generate income to support their families. However, they face many challenges in starting up and stabilizing their businesses, which includes: 

1)  Lack knowledge on how to maintain and develop their businesses.
2)  Lack of business capitals.
3)  Online F&B is a very competitive market.
4)  Lack of ability to market and promote their businesses online effectively, due to a lack of           exposure to the internet and social media.

Therefore, my aim is to raise funds for the B40 women entrepreneurs to help them in their businesses and to empower them.
