One Nice Food Equals to Dozens of Waste

It came to my attention that the food waste crisis within our neighbourhood and community have yet to decrease. I do wonder just how much this issue is often overlooked in our own household and by us individually. It may be ignorence, or just plain unawareness of how such issue going to impact us as a society. I, myself, am guilty on this front as I was completely unaware just how ginormous this crisis actually is. Though I do have a general understanding of how much we, as proud Malaysian, just loves the variety of foods, only after joining AIESEC in Kuching then I was fully informed at just how much waste we typically produce and its impact to us as a society. This holds true even more when talking about Celebration Season.

Not to mention that food security in Malaysia is not the best to say the least. We can say that we are lucky enough to be able to have a meal each day and days after. However, there are still some that do not have the luxury to afford a constant flow of food onto their table. This sort of thoughts comes across my mind as I get more and more into researching and learning about this food waste issue; and also what made me more determined in advocating for those who are struggling with food security.

That being said, I am here to invite all of us to join in the noble effort to reduce food waste starting from the household level up to community and finally nationwide. We strive to increase food security and help to enrich the lives of those who really needs our aid. So, help us in our effort to creat a brighter future for ourselves and those around us as well.
