Birthday for Vision - Joyful Celebration, Sharing Compassion

THE PROBLEM

While many causes advocate for immediate issues, issues like poverty and accessibility of education remain issues that have stood for decades. The B40 group in Malaysia are the 40% of the population that earn the least and struggle the most in terms of putting food on the table, and affording tertiary education which to many is but a dream.

THE SOLUTION

Great Vision Charity Association (GVCA) runs the Rakan Shopping Program and Didik-Kasih EduCare Program, which provides grocery packs to B40 families in low-cost government (PPR) flats, as well as a monthly stipend for B40 tertiary students respectively. Our programs are in constant need of funding, especially over the past year as more and more people find themselves losing their sources of income. With this campaign, we hope to raise support from members of the public to celebrate their birthdays in a meaningful way by fundraising for our campaign so that they could share their happiness with those in need.

THE IMPACT

As this fundraiser is an ongoing effort, centred around donor birthdays, it helps us ensure that funding continues to be channelled to the right places at a steady pace. The monthly additions to the fundraiser give a sense of security not only to us as we plan out the year, but also to our beneficiaries who can lean on the kindness of our donors who choose to celebrate their birthday with kindness.

Goal Breakdown

Goal 1 - Groceries packs (24 sets). Amount Needed: MYR4,800.00

Goal 2 - Students allowance (24 times). Amount Needed: MYR6,000.00

Goal 3 - Students one-off assistance. Amount Needed: MYR1,200.00
