THE PROBLEM
Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally as well as in Malaysia. Globally, nearly 1 in 6deaths is due to cancer. According to National Cancer Registry Report 2007-2011, the risk of males getting cancer is 1 in 10 and for females is 1 in 9. The National Cancer Society of Malaysia (Persatuan Kanser Kebangsaan Malaysia), (NCSM), is the first not-for-profit cancer organisation in Malaysia that provides education, care and support services for people affected by cancer and the general public.
Established in 1966, NCSM is a tax-exempt charity body registered under the laws of the Malaysian Societies Act and Registrar of Societies Malaysia. Due to the pandemic, NCSM services is greatly affected due to lack of funding. The services provided by NCSM are
- Providing highly subsidised screening for the public and free screening for the underprivileged.
- Providing nuclear imaging services at a highly subsidised rate
- Providing ‘a home away from home’ for underprivileged child cancer patient – and their caregivers from outside of Kuala Lumpur.
- Reaching out to the underprivileged communities and educate them on cancer prevention and early detection.
- Providing support and cancer information to patients, survivors, caregivers, and the public.
THE SOLUTION
By supporting this campaign, TOGETHER AS ONE, we can help NCSM to continue their operation to provide education, care and support services for people affected by cancer.
For every RM 2800 raised, NCSM is able to provide one month supply of 10 tins (in 1.6kg size) of the PediaSure milk for the Children’s Home of Hope.
For every RM1 donated, NCSM provide highly subsidised screening for the public and free screening for the underprivileged.

THE IMPACT
Our aim for this campaign is to achieve at least a minumum RM7000 for NCSM to support their operations. By supporting this campaign you are helping NCSM to continue their operation and the cancer children's family to reduce their burden.
Furthermore, by having 30% of the fund, AIESEC in TU is able to continue the sustainability of this project to continue our semiannual initiative to raise awareness on cancer.
