We Change-We Impact-We Save

The Story

Hello there! I'm Thanusha, a second year student from University of Malaya. I'm currently  volunteering for "Clean Our Plate" project under AIESEC in UM. This project aims to change perspective of public towards surplus food and at the same time create a world with zero food waste.

Did you know that food wastage is a perpetual problem in Malaysia and according to SWCorp Malaysia (Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation), the households sector accounts for 44.5 percent of the 16,667.5 tonnes of food waste generated in Malaysia daily. About 24 percent or 4,005 tonnes of the food waste is classified as still edible, with the quantity sufficient to provide three meals to 2,970,000 people for a day.   

This campaign, which is in collaboration with Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, is an initiative to raise fund and help those in needs during this difficult pandemic period. 70% of the fund raised will be used to buy food donation items for  underprivileged, whereas 30% will go to AIESEC  for future project development.

A little donation can save the hungers for a lifetime. Let's work together to end the hunger cycle.
