THE PROBLEM
In the 2019 Global Hunger Index, Malaysia ranks 57th out of 117 qualifying countries. With a score of 13.1, Malaysia suffers from a level of hunger that is moderate.
Society has rather less awareness about global problems like people in the third world country is suffering from hunger. Other than that, there's a lot of homeless people in Perak who are suffering from hunger. Although NGOs and government had been taking action to solve this problem, the hunger problem is still not thoroughly decreased and solved. People are lacking awareness, attitude, and actions towards the hunger problem.
THE SOLUTION
Our objective is to raise awareness in Perak, and influence the community to join the force in serving the kindness towards the people suffering from hunger.
Our key activities throughout the 6-week social project:
1st
Hunger Ranger / Zero Hunger Day
- We have partnered with Pay It Forward Ipoh which is a team of dedicated people who feed 50 homeless on the streets of Ipoh every Saturday night.
- Together with like-minded people, we carry out food distribution to the homeless by cooking and food packaging.
2nd Hunger Ambassador
- To
create a food station to ensure the hunger people have a sustainable food supply after the project
3rd Workshop
-Conduct talks/campaigns to raise awareness about hunger issues and the importance of not wasting food among school communities.
THE IMPACT
At the end of this project, we wish to achieve:
- Reduce the hunger rate in Perak area
- Ensure continuous food supply to the needs
- Raise awareness about hunger issues among public communities
- Fundraised for the needs
